Harnessing Technology to Elevate Achievement in High Poverty Schools

Purpose and Objectives:
Implementing 21st Century Skills/Themes means bringing H.E.A.T. (Higher order thinking, Engaged learning, Authentic connections, Technology use) to student learning. This presentation models free web-based tools and resources (e.g., Web 2.0 resources), dynamic and targeted benchmark interventions, and monitoring protocols (Classroom Walkthroughs with H.E.A.T.) that enable district/campus stakeholders to retrofit conventional instructional improvement initiatives based on the tenets of H.E.A.T. to achieve unparalleled achievement results among at-risk students.
