The Sustaining Independence Campus Checklist is used by LoTi Digital Age Schools during the third and last stage of implementation. Sustaining independence involves the adoption of a new campus culture consistent with the goals and objectives defined in the Next Steps Action Plan. Stage III stresses sustainability through ongoing professional learning communities, action-research projects, and full implementation of 21st Century teaching, learning, and leadership.

As a proven research-based program, LoTi Digital Age Schools participate in a myriad of doctoral studies and action-research projects that attempt to document the impact of digital-age teaching, learning, and leadership on student academic growth. Each LoTi Digital Age School is evaluated annually according to the Cornerstones of Change: Pedagogical Growth, Student Academic Progress, and Digital-Age Instruction; and a report documenting these changes is produced for all stakeholders.
