Cornerstones of Change

In the Digital Age, strategic thinking should guide school improvement. Since our collective goal is to prepare students to be competitive and productive in global markets that do not yet exist, our PreK-12 curriculum needs to reflect the 21st Century skills, concepts, and themes articulated by the Partnership 21st Century Skills. The Cornerstones of Change provide public schools with a tangible road map to promote both continuous improvement and 21st Century learning. LoTi Digital-Age Schools make a commitment to implementing and supporting these Cornerstones of Change:

  • Pedagogical Growth
The Current Instructional Practices (CIP) Framework measures classroom teachers’ migration from a subject-matter to a learner-based instructional approach in the classroom.

  • Student Academic Progress
Statewide standardized test scores measure how students have achieved targeted outcomes based on state content and performance standards.

  • LoTi Digital-Age Instruction
The LoTi Framework measures classroom teachers’ implementation of Teach 2.0 methodologies based on the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS-T).

  • Continuous Improvement Cycle
Using the LoTi Digital-Age Model (i.e., Assess, Plan, Implement, Sustain), schools are able to (1) identify and document staff development needs using the LoTi Digital-Age Survey, (2) create a comprehensive action plan tied to student academic growth, (3) build capacity using effective Teach 2.0 methodologies, and (4) sustain change efforts through structured classroom walkthroughs and professional learning communities.
