Accountability is a critical dimension of LoTi Digital-Age Schools. Each campus undergoes a rigorous accountability profile that evaluates student academic progress, current instructional practices, and levels of teaching innovation based on the data-driven goals and objectives embedded in the Next Steps Action Plan.
- Student Academic Progress
Statistically significant changes in student academic progress based on state standardized tests are determined using a battery of statistical measures. The chi square test shows whether there is a statistically significant association between grade level and meeting the standard in the targeted content area from one year to the next based on the number (frequency) of students who met the standard.
A separate t test
or z test for percentages (depending on sample size) is conducted to determine whether the overall percentage of standardized test scores from one year to the next is significantly different when considered across all students at the targeted grade level.
LoTi (Levels of Teaching Innovation)
Structured classroom observations based on the Levels of Teaching Innovation (LoTi) Framework as well as teacher and student interviews, student artifacts, and lesson plan submissions are used to determine changes in targeted staff members’ LoTi level from the Fall to the Spring. Content validity of both the LoTi Framework and CIP Framework (see below) was established through an intensive, highly collaborative developmental and review process involving expert panels comprised of classroom teachers, instructional specialists, and instructional technology coordinators.

CIP (Current Instructional Practices)
Structured classroom observations based on the Current Instructional Practices (CIP) Framework are used to determine changes in targeted staff members’ CIP level from the Fall to the Spring.
