The content for Year III
focuses on expanding Teach 2.0 methodologies with 21st Century assessments and refining a sustainable cycle of continuous improvement. Sustaining independence involves the adoption of a new campus culture consistent with the goals and objectives defined in the Next Steps Action Plan. Year III stresses sustainability through ongoing professional learning communities, action-research projects, and full implementation of 21st Century teaching, learning, and leadership.
At the conclusion of Year III,
a LoTi Digital-Age School has:
- Expanded the tenets of H.E.A.T. and Teach 2.0 methodologies.
- Focused the peer observation and professional learning community process on 21st Century Assessments.
- Institutionalized collaborative learning environments aligned to 21st Century Skills.
- Developed strategies (e.g., grant writing, increased federal funding) for effective acquisition and use of digital-age tools.
Sustainable Indepdendence Action Plan
Phase 1: Assess Current Conditions on Campus
- Refine procedures for analyzing pre/post LoTi/CIP and student growth results
- Collect Year III LoTi/CIP pre-assessment data
Phase 2: Develop Plan of Action
- Develop campus professional development priorities using the aggregate LoTi Digital-Age Survey
- Add Year III LoTi Intervention dates to school calendar
- Adjust Next Steps Action Plan based on assessment data
Phase 3: Implement Cornerstones of Change
Provide targeted professional development onsite, blended, and online interventions addressing:
- Conduct monthly peer observations and resource sharing sessions
Phase 4: Develop Routines for Sustainability
- Expand the 5 C’s of Instructional Leadership
- Refine the Classroom Walkthroughs with H.E.A.T. process
- Collect Year III LoTi/CIP post-assessment data
- Prepare annual summative report
