The content for Year II focuses on full-scale implementation of the H.E.A.T. Strategies and Teach 2.0 methodologies piloted during Year I with special emphasis on differentiated instruction and collaborative learning environments.
Implementing change requires commitment from all key stakeholders to the campus goals and objectives defined in the Next Steps Action Plan. Year II stresses continuous improvement to the change process by refining the H.E.A.T. walkthrough process, implementing Teach 2.0 methodologies, and addressing differentiated instruction aligned to H.E.A.T.
At the conclusion of Year II,
a LoTi Digital-Age School has:
- Implemented the tenets of H.E.A.T. and Teach 2.0 methodologies.
- Focused the peer observation and professional learning community process on differentiated instruction.
- Developed collaborative learning environments aligned to 21st Century Skills.
- Created a process for self-monitoring individual LoTi and CIP practices in the classroom.
Implementing Change Action Plan
Phase 1: Assess Current Conditions on Campus
- Analyze pre/post LoTi/CIP and student growth results
- Collect Year II LoTi/CIP pre-assessment data
Phase 2: Develop Plan of Action
- Develop individualized professional development plans using the LoTi Digital-Age Survey
- Add Year II LoTi Intervention dates to school calendar
- Adjust Next Steps Action Plan based on assessment data
Phase 3: Implement Cornerstones of Change
Provide targeted professional development onsite, blended, and online interventions addressing:
- Conduct monthly peer observations and resource sharing sessions
Phase 4: Develop Routines for Sustainability
- Implement the 5 C’s of Instructional Leadership
- Expand the Classroom Walkthroughs with H.E.A.T. process
- Collect Year II LoTi/CIP post-assessment data
- Prepare annual summative report
