During the three-day National LoTi Trainer Assessment Institute, participants will engage in a series of assessment tasks designed to gauge their readiness level for becoming Certified National LoTi Trainers. These assessment tasks will range from conducting lesson plan/instructional unit makeovers to presenting both formal and informal professional development interventions. The three-day institute will be facilitated by a cadre of current Certified National LoTi Trainers.
Daniel Cherry
Dan Cherry is co-founder of Deconstructing the Box, a consulting group that specializes in Leadership, Organizational Change, and Technology. He most recently was the director of the New Hampshire School Administrators Leading with Technology (NHSALT) program. As an educator, Dan has ten years experience as a classroom teacher, seven years experience as a Technology Director, and five years working at the state level for the New Hampshire Department of Education. Dan is also a member of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) faculty and has been recognized as an expert in improving instruction through the use of technology. As an educator, Dan has ten years experience as a classroom teacher, seven years experience as a Technology Director, and five years working at the state level for the New Hampshire Department of Education. Dan has been recognized as a Distinguished Speaker at the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference and he has presented many national education conferences.
Todd Fishburn
Todd Fishburn is currently a Vice Principal in Seaford School District in Seaford, Delaware. Todd is an expert in LoTi, differentiated instruction, authentic technology integraion, best practices in technology education, and handhelds and other emerging technologies. He believes that handhelds are the wave of the future as they have proven to increase student acheivement, and he supports this practice through his Building Learning Communities with Handhelds project. Todd is also an adjunct faculty member at Wilmington College; a small business owner; a doctorial student; a local, regional, and national presenter; and a life-long learner.
Dr. Chris Moersch
Dr. Chris Moersch is the Director of the National Business Education Alliance and National LoTi Project. He has degrees from Fresno State University (B.A.), San Diego State University (M.A.), and the University of Southern California (Ed.D.) Chris has over 20 years experience in the areas of curriculum development, program evaluation, and technology integration practices. His specialization includes promoting school improvement initiatives, creating 21st Century Learning environments using EBAM (Experiential-based Action Model), and facilitating administrator institutes.
Lazette Woods
Lazette Woods, MSEd, is the founder of TRIAD Consulting, Technology Resource Integration and Design, and has more than 20 years K-12 experience as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and educational technology director. She has served as a technology consultant for the National Computer Literacy Board, Texas Education Agency, Region 10 Educational Service Center, and the Texas Center for Educational Technology. Lazette presented ‘21st Century Learning - Integrated Technology’ to state legislatures at the Texas Governor’s Capitol School House and was recently recognized by the Texas Education Agency as “Texas Outstanding Educational Technology Leader”. She has implemented research based programs focused on at risk populations, authentic assessment, integrated technology,adult learners and virtual learning environments.
Melissa Ramos
Melissa Ramos is the Executive Technology Director for Floresville Independent School District in Floresville, Texas. She received her M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction with a Concentration in Integrated Science from Our Lady of the Lake University. She has developed workshops and implemented training for FISD, other districts, and organizations on various topics. Melissa is also a grant writer, a technology consultant and mentor, and serves on various committees involving curricular issues. Melissa is an expert in developing total district training sessions and using technology as a whole school reform model. Melissa believes that the EBAM model is the best tool for Extreme Technology Lesson Plan Make-Overs!
Denise Schoch
Denise Schoch has over fifteen years of experience in technology integration in education. The experiences of working in nearly 100 schools with students and teachers has provided a rich knowledge of content and learning standards. She has served as a technology consultant, mentor, and integration specialist at the school, district, county, and state levels. Her specialties include working with the “technophobe” and hesitant learner, writing and administering grants, writing step-by-step manuals, and integration and use of laptops in the schools. She believes technology should be seamless, easy, accessible, and sensibly integrated into the curriculum.
LeeChel Moersch
LeeChel Moersch is the Instructional Specialist for the Lewisville Independent School District Technology Department in Lewisville, Texas. She serves three schools and supports the curriculum website. LeeChel believes that technology is a tool that can improve instruction by caputuring student interest and by allowing students to have experiences that were previously impossible or improbable.
Kathy Piechura-Couture
Kathy Piechura-Couture is the director of special education and teaching faculty at Stetson University in DeLand, FL. She received her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Special Education from the University of South Florida. She serves as a state consultant in technology integration and electronic program assessment. Kathy is actively involved in Professional Development Schools and has provided technology workshops through the Nina B Hollis Institute for Educational Reform. A self-professed geek, she believes that technology is a fundamental tool in the restructuring and improvement of K-12 schools.
